Your Story, Your Rights, Our Mission
Simple Terms: By submitting your story to D2D, you're joining a community of healthcare professionals committed to sharing experiences of medical conscience over conformity.
Core Agreement
All stories submitted become the non-exclusive property of D2D. Contributors retain rights to their stories but confer express permission to D2D to publish their stories with attribution in appropriate format without compensation to the contributors.
What This Means for You
You Keep:
Full ownership of your original story and experiences
Right to republish your story elsewhere (with simple D2D attribution)
Right to use your story in other formats or publications
Control over attribution - real name, pseudonym, or anonymous
D2D Receives:
Non-exclusive publishing rights to your story
Editorial authority to enhance clarity and storytelling impact
Right to include your story in collections, podcasts, or educational materials
Permission to adapt your story for different media formats
We Both Agree:
Your approval required for any major changes to your story's content or meaning
Professional editorial process with legal review before publication
Withdrawal option - you may withdraw unpublished stories at any time
Privacy protection through anonymization options when requested
Editorial Collaboration
Your story will be enhanced through:
Professional editorial guidance while preserving your authentic voice
Legal review to ensure appropriate protections
Collaborative revision process until you're completely satisfied
Nothing publishes without your final approval
Attribution and Recognition
D2D will provide attribution according to your preference:
Full name and credentials
Professional title only
Pseudonym or pen name of your choice
Anonymous (with general location/specialty if desired)
If you republish elsewhere: Simple attribution required - "First published in the Duty to Dissent Substack [date]. Reprinted with permission."
